A business may qualify for a GCRC endorsement if one or more of the products or services it sells qualifies for a GCRC endorsement.
In order for a product to qualify for a GCRC endorsement, that product must fulfill the following requirements:
It must have first been approved by an independent 3rd party certifying agency generally recognized within that industry for its credibility in validating the sustainability claims of the product. (e.g. Green Seal Certified cleaning supplies.)
The entire product line need not have been approved in order for the company to qualify as a GCRC Endorsed Business Member.
Approved certifying agencies include, but are not limited to:
The product or representative samples of the product line must have been field tested for efficacy for a minimum of 30 days by a GCRC member.
In order for a service to qualify for a GCRC endorsement, that service must fulfill the following requirements:
A member of the GCRC Steering Committee, or its designee, must meet with the principals of the service provider at their place of business to fully understand the nature of the business and the corporate culture.
The service must be tested by a member of the GCRC Steering Committee, or its designee, for such time as is necessary give a clear indication of that service’s efficacy and reliability. The service will be retested in a similar manner every other year, or as needed, based on user feedback.
The GCRC must be presented with all applicable business licensing materials pursuant to the services being provided. The GCRC Steering committee must approve the business by a 2/3 majority vote.
